We are incredibly grateful for our team of wonderful tutors and volunteers. Each tutor has been selected for their excellent academic credentials. However, our main focus is making sure that we select tutors who can ensure your child or student's safety.
At DoubleUp, we pride ourselves on our rigorous selection process for tutors. We seek out individuals who have a strong academic background and a genuine passion for teaching. Our tutors are required to meet specific educational criteria. They must achieve A grades and above in 9 GCSE examinations, and we require a reference from one of their recent teachers.
For our selection process, we conduct interviews for all candidates, require verified references, and background checks with their schools or institutions to ensure that they are reliable and trustworthy. We only engage tutors who we can verify are knowledgeable, skilled, and able to effectively communicate with students.

One of the many great things about DoubleUp is that our teachers are young, finishing school, and can empathise with younger students. They also understand the current national curriculum from a student's perspective, which tutees have found to be really beneficial.

In addition to our selection process, we have a robust safeguarding procedure in place to keep students safe. All lessons are recorded and stored, with 10% being reviewed by staff each week. A report system is active, where students can detail any incidents involving their tutors. 100% of these reports are investigated within 24 hours.
